Importing Comments from Disqus

Moving from Disqus? You can bring all your existing comments into JamComments.

Step 1: Export Your Comments from Disqus

1. Log into Disqus
2. Select the site you want to export from
3. Go to Moderation → Export (or visit https://your-site.disqus.com/admin/discussions/export)
4. Click Start Export

5. Wait for Disqus to email you a download link (this can take a while)
6. Download the XML export file

Step 2: Import to JamComments

1. Go to the Disqus import page in your JamComments dashboard
2. Upload the XML file you downloaded
3. Watch the progress as your comments are imported

What to Expect

• All imported comments are automatically approved
• If you try to import the same comment twice (same content, author, and site), it will be skipped — no duplicates
• Nested reply threads are preserved exactly as they were in Disqus
